Occasionally, while watching celebrity interviews or shows, we might wonder if the celebrity has a noticeable bump. Yet, regardless of its accuracy, certain celebrities have managed to conceal their pregnancies entirely during the filming process.

Whilst filming the television show Parks and Recreation, Amy Poehler was carrying her son Archie, who she shares with ex-husband Will Arnett. The producers had to change the whole filming schedule during the second and third season. 

Hilary Swank

Hilary tried her hardest to keep her pregnancy hidden from the production team Alaska Daily. Hilary had to play a jogger in the show, but because of the fact she was pregnant with twins at the time, there was no way that she was able to run. 

Halle Berry

Halle was pregnant with her son Maceo during the filming of X-Men: Days of Future Past. Halle said, “I was three months pregnant. It was different. I had to shoot really fast. Two weeks was about as much as I could do before I was busting out of the suit.”

The Sex and the City actress Sarah Jessica Parker fell pregnant on the fifth season, in 2002. It was easy enough to cover up the growing belly by producers as they’d dress her in baggy dresses and then ultimately cut the season short when Parker could no longer hide her pregnancy

Claire Danes

The actress from Homeland has two sons with her husband Hugh Dancy, and Claire was filming shows whilst pregnant with them both. In an interview with USA Today, Danes said, “I was pregnant for a lot of filming. With Cyrus, I started filming in my second trimester. I was eight months pregnant when we finished with the seasons. With Rowan, I was filming during the first and second trimester. So, I got it from both ends. I got nausea and fatigue, and then the huge belly they had to digitally erase.”

In a long-awaited announcement made in January 2021, the PEN15 actress shared some exciting news, jokingly stating that it had taken her nine months to make the post. She revealed that she and Alex Anfanger were expecting their baby, with the due date just around the corner.

Kerry Washington became pregnant during the sixth season of the series Scandal in 2016 with her son Caleb. She said in an interview with Good Morning America, “You could play a really fun game for the first five episodes of ‘find the bump’, after that, the bump is gone. Cause we shot five episodes before I gave birth.

The Hustlers actress quietly welcomed her first child, a baby girl, in 2020, as confirmed by her representative to PEOPLE. Wu, known for keeping her personal life private, had not publicly announced her pregnancy. Her Instagram and Twitter profiles are labeled as “defunct” in their bios.

The producers concealed Courteney’s pregnancy with loose-fitting clothing, and her daughter Coco was born one month after the final episode aired in 2004.

January Jones

January is known for her character Betty Draper in Mad Men. During her pregnancy, Jones’ character had a new story line where she was experiencing weight gain. She said, “I started this season of Mad Men eight months pregnant, and I finished it with a 5-month-old. It was bizarre. And I was in seven hours of prosthetics every morning, trying to rip off a fake chest piece so I could breastfeed.”
