Raising the Bar: 10 Irritating Habits Men Demand Their Fellow Men to Shed

By Krystal Brown

If you find yourself saying “Did he really just do that” the chances are you have experienced one of these 10 annoying habits other men desperately want other men to quit.

Peeing on the Floor

Women may think that all men pee on the floor so other men don’t mind it when they see it, but this is not the case. Men like to use a clean bathroom just as much as women so when they head for a pee and find that other men have peed all over the floor or the seat, they are very annoyed. It only takes a few seconds to aim properly and if you do make a mess then you should tell the owner of the building so they can clear the mess up. This is especially annoying when men are out with their kids who need to use the bathroom too.

Treating Serving Staff Badly

When you are out and about with your friends and one of them starts to treat restaurant or bar staff badly it is so cringe-worthy. How people treat strangers says a lot about people and when your friend is nasty to others you can begin to question whether they are the right person for you. What is worse is when you call your friends out for their actions towards others and they simply step up their abuse of serving staff.

They Are Unhygienic

Having a smelly friend is not a good look, especially if you are on a night out talking to other people or looking to meet some nice women. As well as it being unpleasant on a personal level, unhygienic men give other men a bad name as it makes women think that all men fit the stereotype of lazy men sitting unwashed and unshaven rather than making themselves look presentable.

Being Rude to Women

In a bid to get rid of toxic masculinity, many men are challenging stereotypes and aiming to be more respectful to women. However, there are many misogynistic men who will cat call and make suggestive comments towards any women they come into contact with, which is not great. Some men hate this just as much as women but it is never going to end until men start to call other men out for their actions.

Fighting Over Women

Fighting in general is a turn-off for many men when it comes to making good friendships but when they see men fighting over women it is the last straw. Not only will men hurt themselves and make themselves look very immature, but it is also disrespectful to the woman they are fighting over as if she were some sort of competition prize.

Coming on to Other People’s Girlfriends

While men do not condone fighting over women, they also will not put up with men flirting and touching another man’s wife or girlfriend. When men know that a woman has a partner and they continue to pursue her, other men do not find it acceptable. Once again, this is not only the wrong thing to do on an individual level, it also gives men a bad name as a whole and is not a good experience for the woman who is being targeted.

Not Crying

There is a perception that men cannot cry, particularly in front of other men. This is, of course, not the case at all and men should be encouraged to show their feelings rather than keeping things bottled up. When men refuse to cry or make a point of laughing at men who do cry, this is very annoying for some men as well as women.

Not Washing Their Hands

When men don’t wash their hands after going to the bathroom or before eating, especially at a buffet, it can make people feel ill. Men want other men to wash their hands just as much as women want men to clean their hands. It is not a good look guys, so get that soap out.

Telling People to Man Up

When men are told to man-up it infers that they are less of a person for not conforming to stereotypes such as crying or wearing pink shirts, it is infuriating for a lot of men. Men just want to wear what they want and act how they like without being judged by other men.

Revving Their Engines

Revving car engines, speeding and simply having loud cars in general is an act of the Alpha male who thinks that he is being manly. The men who sit watching all of this simply think that these guys are dumb and dangerous and want nothing to do with them. Revving a car engine is not impressive to other men and it certainly isn’t impressive to women.
