By Krystal Brown

We all know too well that celebrities have quirky habits and unconventional lifestyles. It’s one of the reasons we spend so many hours searching the internet and reading magazines. However, some celebrity moms did unusual things after giving birth.

Mayim Bialik

Mayim is a firm believer of “attachment parenting” which means that she didn’t feed any of her children solid food until they were 12 months old, she breastfed one son until he was 4, she believes that you should never have a babysitter and encourages baby-led weaning and co-sleeping.

1The actress best known for her part in the Twilight movies, decided that she wanted to really cherish her time with her new son Bodhi, that she had with actor Ian Somerhalder. Whilst she was pregnant, she told Fit Pregnancy and Baby magazine that she would be taking a whole month of silence after the birth. This meant that she declined all visitors, didn’t engage in any social media and didn’t even have her phone with her.

Even though this might not be the most uncommon trend, it definitely had a few people’s stomachs turning. When she decided to transfer her baby from milk to solids, Alicia would chew her son’s food for him before transmitting it to him from her mouth, to his. She was obviously criticized for this behavior, and in turn, defended herself by saying, “I can understand that it would make some people feel uncomfortable, but I do want to let you know that this has been going on for thousands of years – still going on all over the place – and it’s natural.”

Kelly Preston

After the death of her son, Jett, in 2009 from a seizure, Kelly fell pregnant at the age of 47. She had opted for a silent birth, which is a scientology practice. Kelly said, “Silent birth is basically just no words, as much as possible. If you need to moan, if you cry out, you know, all of that of course, that’s normal.” You basically just reduce as much noise as possible, including noise from doctors and nurses.

Madonna is actually quite a strict parent, which, from her boundary pushing lyrics in music, you might not believe. Madonna decided to have all four of her children on a hard-core, organic, macrobiotic diet which means no preservatives, sweets, salt, chocolate, and dairy. There is to be no TV or newspapers and Lourdes (her eldest) didn’t have a phone until she was 16.

Gwyneth Paltrow

It’s an important part of a child’s routine to have a bath, but how would you feel to have a bath as a family… together? Gwyneth said, “We all get into the tub together”. Her daughter Apple, was 7 and Moses was 5 at the time of Gwyneth’s confession.

We know that some celebrities have money, and a lot of it. Taking care of children can be expensive, of course, with the growth spurts and mouths to feed, it can sometimes put a strain on finances. However, Jolie has admitted that she spends $10M on her children per year. $5 million on private jets, $36,000 on groceries, $1 million on private tutors, $96,000 on clothes, and $900,000 on a nanny for each of her children.

After the birth of her son Max, Christina had an interview on Q100 Bert Show and explained that she isn’t ashamed of her sexuality, and she wants Max to be proud too. She stated, “We’re art collectors, there are a lot of female nudes around the house. Max will be growing up in a house where it’s the norm.” Aguilera and Bateman enjoy “naked Sundays” where she cooks dinner naked.

January Jones

A lot of women do this, and it reaps its benefits. However, January Jones wanted to feel her best and decrease the risk of postpartum depression, and so, she ate her own placenta. Of course, it made a few people feel uncomfortable, January Jones didn’t shy from the fact.

Beyonce took the step to trademark her children’s names. This means that they have protections when it comes to items such as fragrances, rattles, cosmetics, hair ribbons, cosmetics, water bottles, key chains, mugs, baby teething rings, and strollers.

Pamela Anderson

As we know, for many years, Pamela Anderson struggled with substance abuse, and you’d think that she would want her children to stay clear of such stuff. However, she has stated that she doesn’t mind her children experimenting with substances.
