Insisting

Honesty

A few minutes into the conversation, her daughter wanted to ask a question. Asking her mother to be completely honest with her. No sugarcoating. This is when the horrible truth came out.

Bullying

She explains to her mom that the kids at her school think that she is ugly. With the other kids bullying her. Telling her she looks like a bird because of her nose.

Tell The Truth Or Lie

This is where she asks her mom “are you telling me the truth when you say I’m beautiful? Or do you lie”. Her mother claims that she is an honest person. So she did not want to “lie” to her daughter. Giving her the most “honest” answer she had.

Average

She told her daughter that she looks average, “like most people are”. Promising that it is not a bad thing to have an average looking appearance. Her daughter got up from her seat and left. Not saying a word as she went to her room, not coming out for the rest of the night.
