A man took to online forum after an argument with his wife. OP (original poster: 39) has a 16 year-old son with his current wife (40). An incident arose while he was out of town on a work trip.
She’s Still Mad
The incident in question took place a few days prior to the post being made. Supposedly, OP’s wife is still angry at her husband over it at the time of post.
Work Trip
While OP was away on a work trip, his wife stayed behind at home with their son. Though when he got back, he discovered something shocking.
Friends And Drinks
When OP returned to their home he found out from his wife that their son went to hangout with some friends. This turned out to be a disaster.
Friends Not So Friendly
While OP’s son hung out with his friends they convinced him to do something illegal. They coerced him into drinking beer leading to him to get drunk.
It’s Fine
When hearing about this situation OP admits that what he did wasn’t right. However, since then OP and his son had a conversation about the whole thing. And that it was fine now.
The Problem
The problem didn’t arise over the fact that his son had gotten drunk. Rather, it was how his wife had overreacted. Most likely leaving their son scarred.
Locked Out
When his son had gotten home, his wife found out about their son drinking. She was furious. Kicking him out refusing to let him back in the house until morning. He begged for her to let him back in and she refused.
Anything Could Have Happened
When OP found out about what she did, he exploded. Regardless of what their son had done, she made a drunk teenager stay outside by himself at night. Something very bad could have happened to him.
Arguments
They had an argument over how she decided to handle the situation. Asking how she thought making their son, who is a minor, go through that is okay.
“It’s His Own Fault”
Rather than being remorseful, she doubled down. She said that it was his own fault for coming home drunk. Suggesting that she was only trying to teach him a lesson. Regardless of the danger she put their son in.
Unwarranted
His son is now not talking to his wife. He sat his son down explaining that while he shouldn’t have drank, what she did to him was unwarranted. He opened up about not having a good relationship with his parents in a comment, and that he always made sure he had a good relationship with his son with trust. He promised that he would try to make his wife understand how dangerous what she did was.
