From Fan to Forever: The Love Stories of Celebs Who Married Their Followers

We all have hidden fantasies about our favourite celebrities. Even though we know that it would be highly unlikely anything would ever happen, we still love to dream. However, for some fans, their dreams became a reality. 

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise

Whilst working on Dawson’s Creek, Katie Holmes would tell her cast mates about her undeniable crush that she had on Top Gun movie star Tom Cruise. In May 2005, Katie and Tom began dating, and they were engaged just shortly after. However, they did divorce in 2012. 

John Travolta and Kelly Preston

Kelly was admittedly a huge fan of John Travolta long before they met in 1987. Even though the chemistry didn’t hit immediately, they began a romantic relationship in 1990 and were married a year later. 

Patrick and Jillian Dempsey

Jillian had a huge crush on Patrick for three years before he finally realized and asked her out. Everything moved very quickly as they were moving in together just three months after their first date, and then went on to marry in 1999. They have been close to divorce but thankfully reconciled and remain strong.

Jessica had only been married for 2 months before we began dating her crush Jerry, in secret. It was when Jessica’s husband at the time had caught onto the fact she was cheating, that they divorced. This was in 1998, and by the end of 1999, Jerry and Jessica were married and have been together for 24 years. 

Maria Carey and Nick Cannon

Nick was a big fan of Mariah’s music and he felt like he had won the lottery when Mariah said “I do.” However, it wasn’t long after getting married that they split in 2016. 

Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon

Kyra Sedgwick was only 12 when she first met Kevin Bacon. She had witnessed him perform in the matinee of a play he was doing, and she made the jump to approach him. They didn’t begin dating again until they met on set of 1988’s Lemon Sky and got married that year. They have been together ever since.

Hailey Bieber,  was a known Belieber prior to her whirlwind romance. When she was much younger, Hailey used to tweet at and about the singer and even waited outside his hotel in hopes of catching a glimpse of him. Her persistence eventually paid off, and she was able to meet the star with the help of her famous father, Stephen Baldwin.

Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman

Adam was a huge fan of Anne Hathaway, and they got married in 2012. Adam had told Anne after they met through friends a few years before tying the knot. 

Matthew Lewis and Angela Jones

Angela Jones was the biggest Harry Potter fan, and in fact, she’s lived a wizarding dream. Angela was an event planner at Universal Studios and this is where she crossed paths with Matthew Lewis who played Neville Longbottom. They met in 2016 and she wrote in her lifestyle blog shortly after that she “never believed in soulmates until they met.” They were married 2 years later. 

Fergie and Josh Duhamel

Actor Josh Duhamel expressed his admiration for Fergie during his time on “Las Vegas.” When Fergie appeared on the show, she approached him on set, leading to their relationship and marriage in 2009. They divorced in 2019.

Conan had an interview with Piers Morgan in 2012 which stated, “Somewhere, in the vault at NBC, there’s footage of me literally falling for my wife on camera.” He stopped his future wife in the audience during a 2000 show and he then made his move. They were married two years later and have two children together.

They both had successful careers when they first began dating, and they were definitely each other’s biggest fans. Even though they had a short marriage, it was sweet whilst it lasted.

Adam fell in love at first sight with his soon to be wife, Jackie, when she got a small role in his film Big Daddy. They began dating shortly after and got married in 2003. They have two daughters together and Jackie continues to be Adam’s biggest fan by supporting him by appearing in many of his movies.

Chris was making jokes about dating Gwyneth for years before they actually began. What he didn’t know was that he was actually manifesting the future. It was during one of Coldplay’s shows that Chris’s assistant told her to go backstage so they could be introduced. They eventually got married and have two children together.
